Placed into
service in November of 2006, this engine was designed to duplicate,
as closely as possible, E86-2 while providing additional riding
capacity, a larger capacity pump and other up-to-date features.
The intent of this duplication was to make the new apparatus
functionally interchangeable with E86-2. Several new features
in the layout include short overall length and short turning radius
for maneuverability, lower hose bed and cross lays for easier
access, retractable ladder and hard tube racks and headset
intercom in all eight riding positions.
